Definition: Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is a managed Kubernetes service that you can use to deploy and manage containerized applications. AKS reduces the complexity and operational overhead of managing Kubernetes by offloading much of that responsibility to Azure. AKS is an ideal platform for deploying and managing containerized applications that require high availability, scalability, and portability, and for deploying applications to multiple regions, using open-source tools.

Example: The following implementation is an example on how this specific Architecture Building Block (ABB) can be instantiated as a Solution Building Block (SBB): Central VIES is deployed on a cloud provider. The solution suggests using a managed kubernetes service for deploying most of the runtimes. Managed kubernetes services offer a cluster whithout the complexity of the underlaying infrastructure with all kubernetes capabilities, such as container orchestration, self-healing, autoscaling, etc.. Thus, Azure Kubernetes Service copes with this requirement.

LOST view: TVI-Central VIES Deployment Model
eira:iopSaliency: Containers Manager ABB is salient for technical interoperability due to its setting up the software tool to manage virtual public services and tools.
